Pros

Locations - multiple locations so you may not need to commute as far.

Cons

Underutilization of staff - due to poor project management, many of us just sit here waiting for tasks. Upper Management and project managers need to recognize this. Time off policies - Since the organization is split between so many offices, there should be an organized way to request time off. Yet there is not, which results in communication breakdowns between employees and employers Company Values - the only thing I have learned here is to not use overhead hours. repeat no overhead. Family commitments must take the back burner and very restricted to no time to work from home. Lack of efficient project management - the project managers are victims of upper management. They don't know how to keep on schedule because upper management does not know how to train to do so, or even implement measures to keep track of projects and the project managers themselves. Lack of transparency - I have only been here a short time but I still don't know what projects are heading my way for the rest of October, November and December. I worry that if I don't have projects lined up for that time that I will have to bill overhead. BUT REPEAT NO OVERHEAD. Also, I am not aware of how the company is doing in general. Are we staying on budget? How efficient are we with running projects? Are we keeping in contact with our clients to make sure they are happy?

EBA Engineering Response

EBA strives to create a positive, rewarding work environment for all employees. We appreciate you sharing your experience so that we can understand where we fell short of our ambitions. EBA has an open-door policy and encourages our employees to discuss their concerns with their manager, any principal, or the HR department. Since this review was posted we have been working hard to address many of these concerns. Our management team discusses resource staffing and availability on a regular basis, and we are using our project management software to make sure all employees are working on rewarding and challenging projects or receiving training. If you have any issues requesting time off, we encourage you to discuss this with your manager. In 2017, we established a committee to focus on enhancing our project management processes and training. We hope you have noticed several improvements. We hope that you are participating in and benefiting from our employee mentorship program. Our surveys have indicated that participants find the program valuable.

Pros

There are some good people to work with at EBA.

Cons

The company operates in a very unethical manner and was investigated by the City of Baltimore for fraudulent billing. Management is very top heavy and virtually all work is delegated to individuals who are young, inexperienced, and insufficiently compensated.
