Pros

None, seriously talk to anyone who has since left DocMatter.

Cons

Honestly, the work culture is insanely toxic, I have had multiple coworkers cry several times a week after work or ultimately leave because the work culture, middle management, and executives simply don't care about individual growth/development (or just as human beings). The roles are also insanely underpaid for the Bay Area, and primarily takes advantage of new grads that come from a medical/biological sciences background either trying to break into Tech or take some time before Grad school. They mention that DocMatter is high growth, but it still has the same revenue and minimal growth since inception--this is one of the startups, where there isn't an upside. They will mention that the executives have a lot of connections and experience in the Bay Area, but that is true for most startups. It would be more worthwhile to take your time to find an employer with a real HR program.

Pros

It's remote work, so that's nice.

Cons

DO NOT WORK HERE. Extremely toxic workplace that stems from the CEO, David Applegate. He intentionally hires people to suppress any negative sentiment across his employees. They hide behind the verbiage of building a healthy work environment but continously dismiss employee concerns and wellness. The CEO is all about making money while never investing any back into his team. The pay is one of the lowest and they will never negotiate with you or even respond. That doesn't mean they don't stop giving you more work and expect you to do more. They constantly raise expectations but never think to compensate you for the extra work. If you speak out about this, you'll get reprimanded and most likely fired. This has happened multiple times. They usually spin the story to make you look like you stepped out of line to save their own image.
