      Patient Access Specialist

      Pros

      In the beginning of employment (2005) the management at DH focused on teamwork, and came down from there offices to help when needed. Great bunch to work with and for.

      Cons

      New management is younger, inexperienced, immature, and systematically has pushed out anyone who does not hold a Bachelors Degree. It does not even have to pertain to the job, just as long as you can prove you are a BS.

      Pros

      Good coworkers (everyone cares about patient care). Good management (they actually listen). Good health benefits (as long as you go through Deaconess). Good EMR (they use EPIC which has some good benefits). They can pay for (expensive) trainings.

      Cons

      The pay is not competitive. Scheduling is difficult because you don't have too much of a say in how it's done.
