Pros

Good discount, cafeteria and juice bar was great, yoga on the roof was a nice offer. Summer Fridays were a nice perk. The office in TriBeCa was well furnished and decorated.

Cons

Terrible company culture. Tons of gossip and rumors encouraged and emulated by senior management and owners of the brand. Senior Management would make a game out of setting you up to fail. Give you projects without proper training or direction. They would give you more responsibility and tell you that you were being tested to see if you were good enough. Our manager never said good morning or good bye at the end of the day. She would pick favorites and then sit at her desk and whisper about the other employees in the room. Our manager would send nasty and unprofessional emails when you would show up five minutes late or if you took a full hour for lunch. Most days the gossip and whispers would last 8 hours with little focus on the success of the brand.

Pros

The close friends I made through work! Some of my closest friends, only on the lower levels (coord/asst/mgr) though. Summer Fridays when you can take them. Overtime for hourly employees. Salad/juice bar is nice to have.

Cons

I took this job after reading poor reviews and wanted to believe otherwise, but unfortunately the reviews are true. I quickly found out 3 months into the job that everyone in my division was actively trying to leave the company, and was just biding their time. The company is losing steam, has outdated values and is solely focused on sales instead of brand awareness. Management is BAD. It is a trickle-down effect from the top, and a who's-who game filled with bad mouthing other employees. Sad, because I truly wanted to love it there, but eventually the negativity seeps in. Long hours, no care for employee work/life balance. The Yurmans treat the company as their personal maid/assistant/catering service with no care for their employees - and I really wish that wasn't the truth.
