Don't believe the positive reviews. It's a trap.
Pros
Despite the dumpster fire that Dakno is, there are still a few perks to working here. My coworkers were almost always kind and eager to help or talk through problems. The company as a whole switched to permanent WFH at the start of the pandemic. Dakno also has well-integrated tech. I never had to print anything when I worked there, and everything is done in project management software or Google Suite. I also had the opportunity to learn a lot of different skills because we were so understaffed.
Cons
Where do I start? If you're looking to get into the marketing industry, Dakno might seem okay at first. I promise you, this kind of job at this pay level is not worth your sanity. Agency life can be hard, but don't fall for the trap. Most positive reviews were written by people who have only worked here for a short time and haven't experienced how bad things can get. To put it simply... Little to no training (You're thrown in on day one! Good luck!) Lack of support from management No opportunities for growth Constant restructuring Compensation well below industry standard Lackluster benefits (Two weeks PTO, barely rolls over, health benefits aren't great.) Cliquey culture (Though this has gotten better after certain employees left. There was a mass exodus in 2021.) Poor hiring practices (Most new hires are young graduates without much experience or contractors so they can underpay them.) Expectation to work overtime because they're chronically understaffed Not much support from my direct manager...because she was stretched too thin! The CEO quite literally brags about his expensive new Tesla in meetings while not paying his employees a decent wage. He also loves to come up with random ideas, make the entire team drop what they're doing to work on them, and then proceeds to change everything about the project or forget about it entirely. He is one of the biggest factors holding Dakno back from really growing. I had to fight for salary increases despite my praised performance, and I was still being paid well-below industry average for my position. And the cherry on top...the company is so lean that I couldn't get a promotion even if I tried. There was nobody else to take on my job, and they refused to ever hire anyone new where they needed it.
