Pros

Wonderful students, I've had many of the same students for over 2years -Company provided lesson plans make the job less stressful.

Cons

-No respect for teachers or contract law - even after 2 years here my once fair contract has changed twice (not for the better) in the past 6 months - Pay rates for teachers across the board have fallen and incremental, negotiable pay rises have been replaced by 'inxentive' schemes which are deliberately very difficult to understand and hard to achieve consistently. - Fair pay and standby time have gone by the wayside in place of harsh teacher fines. For example if I am legitimately sick and have to cancel six classes and do not give 24hrs notice I get fined approx 30dollars on top of losing my days wage.. - the 'up to 25 dollar an hour' tagine is a lie, average wage is 17 dollars an hour, as above standard and no negotiable pay rises for long term, reliable employees - There is no meaningful support for teachers, I have flagged issues with courseware many times to benefit my students and receive automated responses - as of the past year wages are paid late with no apologies, this month I have waited for my wages 4 days overdue and this seems to be getting worse every month - referral scheme is by and large bogus -, teachers literally get less than 2 minutes between classes so going to the toilet is basically prohibited!

Pros

The only pro at Dada at this point is seeing the students I have taught for over a year. I love teaching them and have built up great friendships with them and their parents. The courseware is so dated. I've lost heaps of students who were maybe about 2-4 years old, who really needed interactive software to bridge the gap between knowing their abcs and blending words, but are too young to do straight lessons.

Cons

The biggest con is that the company does not work with or listen to teachers. They've moved in a direction where they have spent all their capital investment on weird high end singalong videos for kids which actually are in pretty bad English. There needs to be more Native English speakers involved in management, IT and courseware design. The company regularly changes contracts to further erode employment and payment rules. Standby is no longer paid. There's no attendance bonus anymore. Trial package incentives are super low, around $7 mark for selling a package to parents worth about $1000. The company sent out the most insulting new "bonus" system recently where for 2 weeks if you submit your personalised 500 word reports on time for trials you can earn the massive sum of $0.40. Trials are around 15 mins long. So a teacher could be getting through a huge amount of them. And then have a nightmarish amount of unpaid/poorly paid work to do after. The leave policy is so strict that it is losing really good teachers. Other online schools allow you to open booking times and close them, as opposed to asking for time off. It's seriously inflexible and makes it difficult to add extra hours for your Regular Students.
