Pros

D3 (Mukilteo) was one of the best employers I have ever had the pleasure of working for. I worked in a variety of positions, mostly in the Design Engineering realm but also into upper management. Nearly everyone was top shelf material, an unbelievably high density of really high caliber talent.

Cons

After LMI took it over, that's when the death knell came. Oh not at once of course, but eventually the jerk they hired to be President literally dismantled the organization piece by piece. I am baffled why they would allow that, taking a once vibrant company and dropping a grenade on it.

Pros

They definitely try to care when there's money flowing, but they're pretty cut-throat as soon as any contracts dry up. We were all contractors, so it was all expected.

Cons

Surprisingly political - never any skip reviews or any conversation between engineers and upper management. They relied solely on middle management advice.

Pros

There is a wide variety of engineering projects, so you are always learning something new. New customers with their engineering techniques, new areas of an aircraft, etc. The engineers at D3 are some of the best, most talented in the business.

Cons

Projects are usually short, as measured in months, so there is never a sense of job security. If the project gets cancelled, people are likely to get laid off unless management can find new work.
