Pros
They want to reel in top performers in the beginning but they want to smash you down and make you conform to be just as average and normal as possible. They do not want top performers. They want mediocre people. That's why in the beginning at the interview process, they want all your ideas. They're encouraging you to say oh we really want to make change in this organization and we really want people that are going to really make a difference here.
Cons
When you actually get into the role they get annoyed if you try to improve things. You become a nuisance if you're pointing out things that could be better even though we should be making places better not only that you become a target when you're a high performer for all of the insecure that are in the company. God forbid you have a boss that's insecure and feels like you're outperforming them. They will ruin your life. They want the high commitment and enthusiasm but they want the answer taking and the lack of independent thought of an average conforming person.
