Fear Culture

Pros

They honestly do very good work for the community and help kids. It's just the the administration doesn't understand how to lead.

Cons

This is absolutely the worst work environment that I have even been a part of. A complete fear culture. There was very little training, and then they would berate you when you did anything wrong. Management and HR were the worst. HR would belittle people, telling them that they were stupid or incompetent. Management would do anything to throw others under the bus. If you made any sort of compliant about the work environment you were told that you just weren't mission driven enough. Very high turnover rate.

Great mission, not well implemented

Pros

I worked in the central office and the great thing about this organization was the potential to be serving a great cause. Also, since the work is on the school campuses, vacation and paid time off was off the charts compared to other for-profit and non-profits organizations.

Cons

Let's just say this place could use a major overhaul with respects to its focus, leadership, and how it gets the word out to others about the good work they are doing on the campuses. The culture is highly inflexible, not open to new ideas, and antithetical to change. I mean NOTHING changes. When there are problems, you have a meeting and complain about it. You might even start a year or 2 long process to try to change it, and then ultimately nothing changes. There is also a lot of gossipy maliciousness between departments that's headed up by department heads not playing nicely together. It's a very stressful environment. And if you're not senior administration, you haven't got a chance to make an impact or have your voice be heard.

Pros

I love working on the school campus! Working with kids is my passion so I enjoy working with and empowering them! You get all of your CEU's for free.

Cons

Pay is very low! 27,500 in Ft. Worth, Texas with a bachelors degree and only about 30,000 with a Master's Degree! More time is spent on paperwork than anything else! Supervisors only care if you meet your numbers(students enrolled). Little to no support in implementing a campus plan or a plan for groups.
