Pros

The majority of employees generally knew their stuff and wanted to do the right thing. A lot of talented people left very suddenly, and the exodus continues. The SLT had a lot of good characters on it. The company did need to reform. Managed Covid situation very transparently and fairly.

Cons

A largely new C-Suite took the company through a rapid demise, smashing through a once-great culture with a heavy focus on not listening to the previous problems and trying to get through more spinning plates and manufactured budgets based on aspirations of the PE owner than market/product fit. So many projects and not enough presence and leadership from sponsors, who often went missing for 'other' priorities. Operational targets were driven without listening to anyone with any consideration of whether they were technically or humanly achievable. When it became apparent they weren't, to make it so suddenly became the latest priority, on top of the already impossible target. Company kept on talking about a great culture, but in reality, it's the leadership that makes it, and when that leadership is continually omnipresent and 'talks the talk', but stumbles with the walk, motivation and belief becomes harder to understand. What was once a great company is now a Yell-ow shadow of its former self.

Pros

- Amazing people who have either left or been pushed out. - Some good benefits that come with the role. e.g. private health

Cons

- In sales it was turning into a boiler room, lots of accounts with focus on hammering the phones or you'd get a kicking from management. - Zero care for customers. - Management not listening to concerns nor were they actually caring. - Hiring all their mates from Yell as is the CEO, CCO and CTO from Yell... - No career development. - Barely heard from or got comms from senior management. - Eager to get everyone in ASAP despite a global pandemic. - People are leaving left right and centre - staff left struggling to keep on top of things.

I am disappointed to see this review and can see that for you our process of change has not worked well. Right now we are hard at work investing in growth and building the capability that we need for the next stage of our business. The level of change is high and I can understand that for some people this can be difficult. We will continue to involve all of our teams in this change process and invest in our people and culture to ensure that Commify remains a great place to work.

Pros

Generally, employ good quality staff, friendly people Relatively relaxed atmosphere *in the office Had a lot of good experiences throughout my tenure, learnt a lot and got good exposure to many roles, activities etc. Approachable for serious discussions regarding healthand career progression. What I can say is that since leaving, the grass isn't always greener. And I have a lot of good memories.

Cons

Upon becoming Commify (from Esendex and Text Marketer) the company drastically took on more than it could handle. Too many brands and platforms to manage, meant that staff were worn out, customers weren't getting a great experience, buying companies with seemingly little plan for them and a huge assumption that staff would pick up more responsibilities to 'make things work'. Team structures were changed consistently over recent years. The sales team in particular have been really poorly mismanaged with targets, responsibilities, activities changing on nearly monthly basis. Since new executive management a lot of higher sales positions have gone to contacts of previous employment. Career progression is regularly discussed but not often acted upon meaning that good staff who could have been loyal long-term members are left downhearted and ultimately move on. What once was a solid company with shared values and people who wanted to work together has become disjointed and dispersed as it's more important to get people in quick than to find candidates who share the 'culture'.

Thanks for your review and it's good to know that you have taken good memories with you from your time at Commify. Quality of service is extremely important and so we are investing in improving our systems and processes to ensure we remain a great company. Our customer satisfaction scores remain high but we know that we need to keep working hard to improve. Our culture is as important as ever and recruiting great people to join the team is really important to me. I enjoy meeting all of our new starters, to welcome them to our business, and I have been continually impressed by the calibre of people joining our team.
