Pros

- 4 day workweeks are great - People are nice enough and helpful - If ambiguity doesn't give you anxiety you should be fine

Cons

- Purely remote workplace with some options to book office space in Toronto (in my example) - Lack of process and documentation, still going through growing pains -My onboarding was COMPLETELY botched, projects I was shadowing got delayed yet I was still given my own projects to run, I feel severely anxious before each day at work, like I was thrown into the fire - Can feel like a boys club at times with more senior people that were there at an earlier stage of the company having way too much sway - C Suite executives feel completely unaproachable - The company claims to care about mental health but this care is very surface level

Pros

CTO & Sr. Dev Team were wonderful. Mostly everyone I worked with in Development were great personally and professionally.

Cons

Kate is a former salesperson and it SHOWS. Bizarre amount of sexism (men can act a certain way, women are reprimanded for same behavior). YXE office is not ND-friendly, you will catch flack if you don't play along and may make it into the "end of quarter firing list". CEO is also on the Board of Directors, so know that when she says she has employees' best interests at heart she's lying through her teeth.

Lack of leadership

Business outlook

Pros

Four day workweek and wellness spending account

Cons

Leadership is severely lacking, leadership ruins their own sales and fires low level people to blame it on them. Leadership wanted to redo our sales territories but took four months to do so not letting us prospect ANY new customers during the four months then were shocked and upset at the lack of new sales coming in. When the company decided to scale the executive team told us that they are no longer going to continue communication with lower level roles. They took months to redo our commission plans and withheld commission until they did. They also kept promising raises and promotions which never happened.

Coconut Software Response

"I’m Coconut’s CEO, Katherine Regnier, and I wanted to personally respond. I am disappointed your time at Coconut has not been truly fantastic. We strive to provide a 5 star experience for our staff and customers. It’s tough to be specific when responding to anonymous feedback, but I can say that Coconut is not immune from growing pains, especially with the pace we’ve set in recent years, and we won’t always get things exactly right. This is one reason why I meet with every employee at Coconut, so we have a chance to talk one-on-one. If anyone is experiencing any issue, they can always reach out directly to me, or to our supportive People & Culture team if they prefer. Sales leadership can only provide a promotion or raise when they see impact. At Coconut, we lean into performance and sales are equipped with a non-capped commission plan. I hope that provides further insight. Please DM me if you want to speak more, and please know my door is open and I would be happy to make time." - Katherine Regnier, CEO, Coconut Software
