Pros

They’re really good liars, and they’ll teach you to be one of them too.

Cons

- No concern for the health of employees. Please ask a former employee what they did during Covid. - Bad pay especially for newly grads. They do not believe in investing in talent. - Management is unprofessional and cut corners. - No training, no resources, no opportunities. - They keep a certain type of people there. Please proceed with caution and low expectations.

CoVerica Insurance Response

Thank you for your feedback. In the last twelve months, we haven't had a negative exit interview with a new grad or an intern that we know of. Of the group of interns or new grads that we've had here at CoVerica over the last 12 months, those who were let go were let go for one of two reasons: cause or insubordination. We're not sure where this is coming from and we wish this had been brought up with a direct supervisor during a weekly meeting or before things escalated so we could address the issue. CoVerica has built a culture of personal accountability. If you were unhappy with anything at any point in time, we wish you would have said something sooner so change could have been implemented. We encourage use of our open door policy, because in fact, there are no office doors here at CoVerica to encourage openness and cooperation. That said, during COVID19, CoVerica was one of the only insurance agencies, brokers, or carriers who kept their intern/grad program fully intact. In fact, not only did we not shut down our intern/grad program, we added to the team because we believe developing new talent is a high priority. During this time, many intern/grads were made full-time employees. Pay is scalable to the work. We put everyone on a base pay + commission schedule well above industry average, which many interns and new producers have been having wonderful success with. We wish you luck in your future endeavors and we are willing to discuss your concerns if you reach out to us so that we can address the issues. As always, if you need a reference please let us know.

Pros

Great culture! Employees love working at the company, leadership does a great job of making people feel welcomed. Long-term planning from the management leads to better outcomes - "CoVerica is not for sale". Unlike many agencies, CoVerica is not looking to be sold. This keeps the "lipstick on a pig" strategy away. Leadership actually builds something long-term, instead of focusing on numbers/cutting costs to make the EBITDA look attractive to buyers. Training and support is great. As someone who is just entering the workforce from university, they have great on-boarding, and I feel comfortable asking questions. They have a whole progression and multi-year plan for new employees, so you know what the bigger picture looks like. I feel like I'm working for the "good guys". CoVerica lives by its values and cares for its employees. Fast-growing company, but still manages to keep its agility and culture. The gym on campus is also VERY nice. Actual powerlifting/olympic weightlifting equipment, plates in pounds AND kilos. I expected a hotel-style gym, but this is the real deal.

Cons

Honestly, insurance isn't the sexiest industry, but that's not so much a con for this company specifically, but sector as a whole. Still a good career to be had and lots of money to be made!
