Pros

The majority of the team are nice & supportive excluding management Efficient company when it comes to pay

Cons

I had a bad experience working with this company, particularly in the sales department. The nature of sales is that you have to hit your target but the targets are too high and not achievable. If you miss a day or take any time off you’re at a massive disadvantage and there is no support in place if you are experiencing personal issues. I started the position on a 6 month contract as the job was sold to me that they would extend my contract. They decided after 5 months they were not going to keep me on due to my performance when the majority of the team had missed target too due to bad data and lack of training. I was given 4 weeks notice but after taking annual leave and 2 days off sick there was no leads in my name and my job had already been given to one of my colleagues without it being communicated to me. I was put in a different area where I did not have sufficient training and I had to chase my line manager for answers instead of him communicating anything with me. I had no way of making up my commission. My line manager knew I had to take the time off due to pregnancy related illness but showed very little empathy or understanding. I took the remainder of time off due to stress leave from the whole experience. This experience has completely turned me off ever applying for a sales position and has knocked my confidence. I was not given any indication that I would be let go and told through out my time at Clio that they weren’t unhappy with my performance as I was not far off level with the team. Some of the managers are brilliant and the majority of the staff are nice but I was shocked at how I was treated when they knew I was leaving, completely pushed out. It was announced in a group chat as well that I was still in that one of the colleagues would be taking my job without anything being communicated to me. Probably the worst experience I have ever had with a company. Their HR specialist was lovely but I had to push for a meeting with her because my manager did not seem to care to handle the situation. Please do not apply to work here if you are not extremely thick skinned.

Clio Response

Thank you for sharing your detailed feedback. We’re glad to hear you found many of your colleagues supportive and appreciated aspects of your experience, like effective compensation processes and interactions with our People team. We’re sorry to learn that your time at Clio didn’t meet your expectations. While fixed-term contracts don’t always result in a permanent position, we understand how challenging it can be when things don’t work out as hoped. We aim to ensure clear communication and provide support during transitions, so your feedback in this area is important. Your comments on targets, training, and communication within the Sales department are also noted. We’re always looking for ways to improve the experience for our teams and ensure that managers lead with empathy and care. We wish you the very best in your next chapter of your career.

Pros

Clio has quite a good product and the lawyers recognise and trust the brand, The Dublin office is lucky to have some great people working for them across all teams.

Cons

Within my role as working with the AEs I can honestly say that not one rep including myself hit quota and made any money for the 6/7 months before I left. The management is exceptionally weak and the only response to any issue is to dial more calls and send more emails. I have been shouted at and sworn at by a senior manager as were the rest of the team and then it was ignored and never discussed. Reps are terrified to ask questions of the CS team as the process-driven management calls you out and publicly humiliates you. clear favorites across the team and one long-term sales rep that can basically do and say what he wants as they are terrified to upset him.

Pros

Great co workers. Good company prospects. Freedom to do the work our own way.

Cons

Recent pay-cut is a major blow to both moral and trust in the company. The wellness benefit was never sold as a temp perk during recruitment. This is a significant chunk of money to lose, especially for lower pay employees. Pension contribution is very poor. All the “reasoning” around the pay cut and mandated RTO has been pure corporate BS. C-suite side-step hard questions and give worthless answers with a “we know best attitude”.
