Pros

Relaxed environment(most of the time) with a solid group of people, lots of bright and friendly minds and very easy to build great work relationships. Most of the higher ups are great, easy to talk to, and very helpful. If you put in the effort required, there are great opportunities for growing valuable skills and there is never a lack of work to be done. Taking part in the development and creation of brand new solutions is challenging and rewarding. Opportunities to work on many different projects and work on different skill sets is very useful. Sometimes there is quick turn-around which may eventually lead to promotions or other opportunities for improvement. Overall the company has a great culture and takes time to celebrates birthdays, anniversaries, and even holiday parties in a fun way. Many employees have been here for 5-10 years.

Cons

Small company, so sometimes things can get disorganized and fall out of place. But at the end of the day, the hardworking teams pull through which is what is important. Most harsh deadlines and scrambles are caused by impromptu changes or requests once a project has been mostly completed. There is definite room for improvement on some procedures and sometimes it can feel like working for a smaller startup even though the company has been around for decades. I believe the highest of management has a lot of say and control over individual departments which can get a bit messy and frustrating. Some employees definitely take advantage of the relaxed environment. This can be frustrating for other employees who then have to pick up their slack. The workload is not distributed evenly due to this, although this is not necessarily a bad thing and can be beneficial for the proactive hard workers. Room for growth seems minimal for most unless you are proactive and work as hard as possible and/or unexpected opportunities arise.
