      Lots of change

      Pros

      Great purpose and mission and everyone is on board with it. Most of the people are great.

      Cons

      There is a wide gulf between leadership and the staff, and even with the ongoing organizational change, it feels like it's been an exercise in shifting seats at the top and cutting back below. There is a lot of kingdom building, and sometimes that results in parallel, but conflicting initiatives.

      Great working and learning environment

      Cons

      The CEO did not know what to do for the last three years and half. His contribution was conflicting policies, meaningless initiatives, micromanaging little detail, showing up at MBEI with problems and demanding more money. He basically ran the organisation to the ground. That is the result of hiring a CEO with no previous government or cooperate leadership experience.

      Pros

      Sir Paul Callaghan's original ideas still resonate today. The underlying point of CI still makes sense and it's a wonderful ideal.

      Cons

      The current leadership are unified in that nothing is ever their fault. It's always the employees or the government, but never them. A huge disconnect between the executive and the staff.
