Used to be good

Pros

Used to be good. But the advantages will probably be eliminated with time. Interesting projets.

Cons

Losing every week 1 or 2 skilful engineer with very valuable experience and knowledge. Not recruiting at all to compensate. Management changed for worse (they work for saving themselves). Engineer trust in upper management is broken since a while. Progress is difficult or rather impossible at a certain stage. As it rhymes with salary increase and that is a no-no for them, so you will get stuck. You can outperfom but you wont get rewarded.

Pros

Benefits, Salary and people other than management.

Cons

***Read this carefully before signing the job offer*** TLDR: Low employee morale and poor leadership. The work environment at this company has deteriorated significantly since 2019. Executive, Operations and Business leaders are extremely aggressive about meeting end-of-year deliveries, creating a lot of pressure and dissatisfaction among employees. It's no coincidence that HR recently organized meetings to discuss workplace harassment—this is clearly a response to the growing discontent. Work-life balance is also a major issue. Overtime is practically mandatory, and employees feel forced to comply. Workers are constantly pulled out of vacation to work OT. Despite having highly qualified staff, promotions seem out of reach, particularly for older workers. Age discrimination should not be tolerated. No matter how qualified and experienced you are, if you don’t fit a certain “profile” or “clique” you won’t get promoted. Instead of streamlining processes, the company seems to be moving backwards. Newly implemented processes are often broken, leading to wasted time and increased frustration. The company's sole focus is to prioritize high-revenue products. You begin to question who the true customer is: the actual client or corporate. Lastly, your superiors will throw you under the bus to divert blame from themselves. Burnout and sick leave are on the rise, and they may even eliminate your position while you're on leave. Spare yourself the frustration and consider seeking opportunities elsewhere.

Pros

Very nice product lines (GPS, FMS, EFB, EVS, VPU, MFD, cockpits, etc.) Salary and conditions are good

Cons

General mood is horrible. Management lives in a parallel reality, they have no idea of the complexity of the systems being developped and the expertise needed to properly do our work. Extremely hierarchical, very little trust in the sw devs. Lack of positive leadership. Quick at fingerpointing. Experienced people have been leaving CMC for 4 or 5 years now and the company has done NOTHING to prevent it. No more support groups (you can't even go to IT, the door is physically locked!) and don't expect too much help from the senior people, since there is very few left and they're always overloaded. Process and procedures have become so heavy over the years, any progress is super slow. Any little change takes forever to complete. And the company is reluctant to any change or improvement. Very sad, because it used to be a very nice company... In summary, common sense has left CMC around 10 years ago and it hasn't been seen around since then... So preserve your mental health and run away from this toxic place...
