Pros

For the most part, the people who work here are friendly and approachable. Experience will vary widely depending on department (sales & acct. management, research, tech team) but as a whole work hours are pretty standard from 9-5 and there is a general work from home policy on Fridays if you're in research. CFRA produces interesting stock research which is frequently featured on major finance news outlets, which can lead to interesting work depending on what part of the company you're in. - 4 weeks vacation

Cons

The cons are numerous: - CFRA acquired a failing business from S&P in 2016 (MarketScope Advisor) and is still struggling to turn that boat around. Sales in this part of the business were very poor this year which led to CFRA's former Head of Sales being let go. - CFRA is trying to be a main competitor to Morningstar - a big struggle when CFRA still has very little name recognition within the equity research space. The marketing team is basically nonexistent with no cohesive marketing campaigns or plans, which doesn't help. - CFRA's management team does not consistently communicate with employees. It's difficult to see the path in the long-term and where individual employees fit in on that path - There is no company culture. There are no team bonding activities or other ways to have fun in the office. Employee onboarding is a mess, HR is comprised of 2 people. - For younger employees, there isn't much in a path to promotion. You're basically there for the job you were hired for and that's it. - Benefits aren't great besides vacation - no 401K match

Pros

Projects that have been delayed for (quite literally) years, due to the incompetency of technology team leadership, make it such that one can get by doing very little actual work.

Cons

The entire in-house technology team was either fired or quit by the end of 2019 in favor of on and off-shore consultants, making it extremely difficult for any projects to progress. Well known and respected industry research analysts that have been with the company for 20+ years are consistently let go to cut costs, citing "performance reasons." There is no career path here - you'll be let go as soon as you start costing the company too much. Upper management is just atrocious.

Pros

Good research product on the forensic side of the business. Analysts are good. Breadth of coverage on the acquired business ok, quality is on par with other competitors

Cons

Sales management has gone in a bad direction leading to a few exits of employees that have produced. More concentration on wealth management side of business leading to less focus on forensic. Too many hires in past year. Comp on low end. Lack of growth within.
