Pros

Basketball on Thursdays and the pay was OK

Cons

No internal structure or guidance with a high turnover rate. No 401K or vacation until 6 months of employment for salary position. Was hired and reported to a boss in manufacturing who had no idea about what I was supposed to do. I spoke to him twice the entire 3 months I was employed there. His boss was even worse. The first month I sat on the manufacturing floor because IT couldn't set me up with a CPU or email.

Pros

You were able to pick and choose your own projects due to managers lack of knowledge on the subject.

Cons

A company that designs and manufactures mediocre product for a market segment which has accepted mediocrity. The main goal/vision is to reach a certain monetary sales goal, which has forced them to sacrifice standards related to product excellence, in order to achieve this benchmark. There is no design process or testing/validation. The design issues I have seen are somewhat concerning (from a safety standpoint), yet disregarded when introduced. Turnover is high within operations/quality.

Pros

Peers are a great group of people, contributing to the family atmosphere. CEO is a great guy with phenomenal business instincts.

Cons

Pay is far below industry standards, and there's little room for advancement. Management is controlling and enjoys micromanaging projects. Terrible communication between divisions, even on projects that should bring multiple groups together. Office politics are a nightmare--management has their favorites, and if you're not one of middle managements pets you're left out in the cold on a lot of important things. Also, middle management has no concept of work/life balance--expect lots of emails after hours, travel whether you want it or not, and lots of judgmental stares if you dare to schedule a vacation day.
