      Work for the experience not the pay

      Pros

      * lunch is provided * some solid team mates * startup experience

      Cons

      * same pay as some nearby fast food restaurants (this is a SF tech company) * looked down at for not putting in more hours then signed to work * constant pressure from founders to work on days off/after work/whenever they need you * 0 work life balance * constant feeling that your job is risk if founders are not pleased * almost no diversity among team * asked to work at clients office for ~15 hour days with no overtime * general lack of concern for employees mental health * discrimination towards junior employees in receiving all benefits in a timely manner * PoC might find HR to harbor some nativist ideals that prevent your voice to be heard

      Like startups experiencing rapid growth, there are natural growing pains and gaps.

      Fast-paced, super rewarding, constant learning

      Pros

      Fast-paced work with a small team = lots of opportunities to have an impact. Learning quickly, thinking critically, and constantly improving our systems and processes is a constantly rewarding process. Team members are thoughtful and great to work with. The product is exciting and rapidly gaining traction and interest in the market.

      Cons

      Not necessarily cons, but reasons that some people might not find working here to be a good fit. These are generally applicable to any small, fast-growing startup: - Team members expected to take on lots of responsibility and fully hold themselves accountable for the parts of the system they own. - Many processes are still fluid and being defined, and everybody needs to work flexibly and contribute to continuously improving and defining these workflows. Structures are not as set as they might be in a larger, more mature company.
