Pros

1. There were some lovely people who taught me both a lot about myself and the Industry when I worked there. I still keep in touch with some of these guys now even after the horrible experience I had working there. 2. Somewhat good training- I was lucky enough to have it one on one during the time I was there. 3. There seemed to be good scope for progression- it is a startup company after all, so if you put in the work and want to make it to the top in recruitment, you probably can based on the fact that there’s not an overwhelming amount of people working for the company yet.

Cons

Management is honestly so questionable. My manager was 100% absolutely not meant to be a manager! Just because someone is excelling at their job does not mean they’re cut out for managing people! He made me feel so so small on a daily basis, he was disgustingly old-school and would carry out pop-quizzes on me, on my knowledge and what I had learned without giving me ANY time to prepare. He would force these pop quizzes on me and put me on the spot in front of the whole office and embarrass me and make me feel like I wasn’t worthy enough to have the job. That is a bad manager. When I was so so ill and sick at Christmas he questioned it and essentially made me feel like I was a fraud. I was so anxious to check my phone because he was constantly at me, having originally asked me to still come into the office and work even though I was so unwell. I got a doctors note and he still somewhat badgered me. He was different with everyone else in the office, lively and jokey acting his young age and with me, he was a stone cold teacher from the 1960s. I wanted to be my bubbly self but I just couldn’t, especially not around him, and so I became more and more reclusive. Managers also shouldn’t be cocky.. it just shouldn’t be a thing, point blank. He was extremely cocky and had such an ego, which was very hard to deal with. I wouldn’t recommend anyone to work in the Dublin office whilst he is still the manager and in control. Listen, just because someone is a good biller and earns a lot of money for the company, should not justify them leading a whole team. He honestly scarred me .. I was heartbroken and I still get upset today talking about my experience working there and how I was treated by him. The other guys in the office were so lovely and reached out to me and helped me a lot. They told me to not mind him, that he’s been like this before and to just keep my head down. But to be honest, I just couldn’t, I had to leave. He had broken me

Thank you for sharing your thoughts. We appreciate you taking the time to leave us a review. We are quite proud of our low turnover rate here at Broadgate which is lower than the industry average, we also have a 70% retention year-on-year compared with a 30% industry average. We believe we have people-first initiatives to support our team, we offer flexible working hours, 3 pm Friday finishes, unlimited annual leave for senior-level employees and above, birthday days off (on top of annual leave allowance), as well as a paid 4-week sabbatical after every 3 years of service and 2 days per year charitable leave to work with charitable partners to name a few. We also have an internal learning and development team who run regular management training and have an online learning management system called Shuttle where consultants at all levels can upskill themselves on certain parts of the recruitment process. We appreciate your feedback and has been passed onto our management team, and we wish you the very best of luck in your future career prospects.
