Pros

Staff development is gospel-focused which is awesome! I enjoyed the children and most enjoyed the racial justice commitment Breakthrough continually makes.

Cons

They require way too much than pay substantiates. During the summer, I worked 8 hours straight with NO break in between and had to squeeze in time to use the restroom. There needs to be some change to that system.

Pros

Breakthrough has one of the best, data driven, community focused programs I have ever seen or been a part of. They focus on building an infrastructure of family-based, educationally viable programs in East Garfield Park. Most of the staff live in the community and love their role in building a great program that serves it.

Cons

Relatively small organization that does not allow for much staff development. Management does a fantastic job of working with staff but not much effort is made to help staff develop new skills for future programming opportunities.
