Pros

Some work areas are really interesting (DS etc) and you could do very interesting work in some areas. Alex (CEO) is a good thoughtful trustworthy leader but he is too involved in some projects to drive transformation/improvement across broader areas.

Cons

Toxic Culture at middle management and senior management levels - Everyone looking at ways to landgrab If you are part of the club then you will do well Lack of leadership skills in most managers - People get promoted to Managers despite severe lack of leadership skills. Uninspiring founders : Best examples of this are Mada and Mike Molinet. Alex is great and the only reason why I am staying on. Mike is a micromanager and if he had his way then he will even tell people what to eat and what not to eat at work Death by meetings/Zoom call : Every decision requires a meeting. Why can't decision be taken a-sync. United Nations. Using Transparency as a means to exercise control by founders and senior management 3rd rate SAAS products and the upcoming search product - Not much advice is listened to Dont trust all the campaigns run on linkedin. Speak to former employees and you will get more insights.

Branch Response
3y
Thank you for sharing your thoughts and experiences of Branch. While we are a young company with amazing growth potential, we are also extremely proud of the leaders who have guided Branch to our current success. We’re also proud of the high volume of workplace awards we’ve been honored with in the past few years, all from anonymous and voluntary employee feedback surveys. Sharing those on LinkedIn gives us great joy, and we’re elated when Branch employees choose to share them as well. We're sorry to hear that your experience of our culture and founders deviates from the usual employee experience, and we would love the opportunity to address it with you directly. Thank you for continuing to stay at Branch despite the bumps in your journey, and please feel welcome to reach out to hr@branch.io with your concerns so we can make a plan together to turn your Branch experience around.

Pros

- Great people and culture from the top down. Branch leadership really works to instill a sense of transparency and a culture of feedback. It makes a huge difference knowing that you can speak honestly and your feedback will be heard. I've seen companies that will promote the wrong types of folks into management positions just because they agree with those above them; Branch is not one of those companies. I've always felt that I'm judged on the quality of my work and ideas and that if I want to grow and improve, my career development is in my hands. - Lots of room to grow and explore. I've felt encouraged to take on new tasks and projects, even when the risk of failure is high. Branch does a good job of instilling a sense of ownership and responsibility, and I see this carry through in people's work ethics. - Really cool product. It's hard to explain in words, but when you see deep links work in practice, it's a great experience.

Cons

- (Less specific to Branch as a company) The mobile ecosystem moves quickly and requires that folks stay on top of current trends, topics, and updates. The flood of info can sometimes be a lot, but I think Branch has done a good job of helping organize, triage, and keep its team informed.
