Management and HR are terrible

Pros

some people are good to work with

Cons

unqualified employees are promoted to roles that they cannot handle, deserving long-term employees are let go at the drop of a dime, no room for growth on admin side, staff and attorneys are completely separate and they let you know it, NO Holiday bonus - they even got rid of the $50 gift card - while sending numerous firm-wide emails about all the success the firm is having, very very cheap and old fashioned - terrible work environment, especially since new HR brought in

Pros

The benefits are good, and the PTO package was competitive. The fellow staff was supportive, generally friendly and knowledgeable.

Cons

The firm is run from Philadelphia, which seems to make decisions without regard to the other offices and how they may be affected. Staff was conscious that there was no support from above, starting with immediate supervisors. Feedback, even when solicited, was usually ignored. Layoffs were expected periodically (and rumors of impending layoffs were usually accurate).

Great past, bad present, questionable future

Pros

Good salaries, expensively furnished offices, on-site gym, some wonderful colleagues, large and convenient cafeteria, some hold-overs from the firm's admirable heritage and past culture.

Cons

Bad culture, mistrust, inequitable work assignments, lack of secretarial support, horrific word-processing support since it was outsourced to West Virginia, firm leadership that is hypocritical and dishonest in spirit.
