Used to be great.
I really liked the place for the first couple of years, but since the old site manager left (about two years ago), it's gone downhill. What used to be a serious medical equipment research site now feels more like a social media platform.
These days, the people who rise through the ranks aren’t the most productive or effective—they're just the most visible. That means running hackathons, hosting Win-STEM events, or giving site tours to VIPs. In other words, the folks who have the time to get involved in non-essential activities while the ones buried in actual work are overlooked.
If you're an “influencer” with a big social media following, you'll probably thrive here. If you're a workhorse? Good luck.
On top of that, two major BD-RCI business units are currently being “divested” (sold off). I'd treat any job offer here with extreme caution—especially if you're being tempted away from a more stable position.
The company’s share price has been flat for the last decade. Supposedly, the divestments are meant to “sharpen focus.” Personally, I think the real issue is a total lack of vision at the top, compounded by layers of bloated, ineffective middle management that are strangling the organisation.
Frankly, I’m done. Too much work, too many deadlines, too much stress.
Time to start looking elsewhere.
