I feel sad reading this. We have always tried to establish an open culture where everyone is treated equally, and people, regardless of everything else, have equal say in how things are done. While our co-founders jump in at times to brainstorm with different teams in an effort to deliver the best result (just like everyone else), everyone's opinion is respected and given due consideration. That being said, we don't suffer fools at SocialCops easily — which means that if you say something that doesn't make sense, we're probably going to be pretty straightforward about it and tell you that. (Being straightforward is one of our core values.) If that's not something you're comfortable with, then SocialCops is not the right place for you. I'm surprised to hear your comment on you “slogging” while others chose to chill out. In fact, all our systems are completely open internally — our emails to clients are transparent, our support tools are open, our hiring ATS is open, our sales CRM is open, our documents are open. This means that pretty much anyone can see what you've been doing at work! The intent of all this is to reduce “power” dynamics and ensure that a 16-year-old can walk up to anyone and tell them that they are doing it all wrong. :) An intern once walked up to one of our most experienced engineers and said that he thought we were doing something completely wrong. This is a story that is spoken with pride at SocialCops, and that intern works with us full-time now! All of this means that honestly, there isn't any room for favoritism. Only your work can truly speak for you. Ultimately, working at SocialCops is more than “just a job” and it isn't for everyone. Often, we figure out if folks aren't culture fits within the first few months of them joining us, and we work to ensure that they find another organization where they will be more comfortable. I really hope that you're now at a place that is the right fit for you!
