"DISTURBED, RAVING LUNATIC OF AN MD- STAY WELL CLEAR"
Pros
- None (free food isn't a positive as you have to ask permission to even have a piece of bread 'The scene from a certain film, when the child asks if he could have some more' springs to mind). - Cash in hand for working Saturday mornings but still not worth it. - Cheque for on call duties, but I believe that's not worth it either. - Tax free Christmas bonus (if you are not in 'the circle') you are lucky if you even get one.
Cons
- Prison like environment (but then again I bet inmates get treated better). - Constant intimidation from one of the MD's who is based in the office. - You are unable to speak unless the context is work related. Even a simple 'how was your weekend' is not acceptable as all you get from the MD is (WHAT!!! or FORGET ABOUT THAT...GET TO WORK). - I am not surprised that the two recent positive reviews have miraculously appeared as word has it from a reliable source the company is struggling. It's funny really as the two posts are from the 'inner circle', it doesn't take a brain box to figure out who they are from. - People may say my comments are bitter and spiteful but if you are not a 'favourite' you will not have lived through the torture of having to work there. So their comments are irrelevant. - Constantly being watched and being made to think that even taking a breath is a criminal offence. - There is no progression to be made, They offer everything in the interview but when it comes starting to work there you get nothing. - Cannot use your initiative, if you have any ideas don't even bother mentioning them as they will not be acknowledge unless you are in the 'inner circle'. - No consistency, management preach about processes and procedures but when decisions need to be made it all depends on the MD's mood and if it's going to effect one of the 'inner circle'. ie the one member of the 'inner circle' always gets priority no matter what the circumstances are. - The anxiety you suffer when returning back to work after taking time off for genuine sickness or childcare is not worth it as you are faced with the repercussions and the vile behaviour from the MD towards you. - Daily verbal attacks from the MD who is based in the office. - Toilet breaks are monitored, you would be humiliated by the MD if you had to visit more than normal. - MD or another member of management will always be in the kitchen during break times and lunch breaks, so you are never able to have a personal conversation in your own time. - Sacks staff for no reason, with no evidence or official warnings.
