Outdated culture, controlling leadership and no real flexibility
Pros
The Turriff office came across as more welcoming and more in step with modern working life.
Cons
From day one, the tone from senior leadership felt poor. Early comments about my clothing left me feeling embarrassed rather than welcomed, and that set the tone for the wider culture I experienced. Although flexibility was suggested, in practice the environment felt rigid and heavily office based, with a clear expectation around 8.30 to 5 and little sense of genuine flexibility. The corporate office culture came across as controlled, outdated and often passive aggressive in tone, and in my experience that filtered down through the business. It felt out of step with modern working practices and, overall, stuck in the past. Having contracted into several companies over the last decade, this was, in my experience, the poorest culture I have worked in in terms of leadership tone and flexibility. As a Talent Acquisition Manager, I would not recommend this company to others.
