Complete and total chaos

Pros

I worked with some great people! Very talented and truly cared about helping clients

Cons

Chaos. Leadership is more interested in merging/purchasing companies to improve bottom line. Client services has fallen considerably over the past year. Internal policies prevent technicians from doing their jobs. Technicians spend more time fixing problems company creates than doing what needs to be done to support clients. Pay is below average, cost of living is not taken into consideration.

Thank you for your review. Applied Tech always welcomes opportunities to improve and encourages open discussion with current and former employees. Applied Tech recognizes and appreciates the trust organizations put in us when they decide to become a partner. With that in mind, we have implemented a layered-security approach along with policies and procedures that follow industry-accepted best practices. This includes limiting what is allowed to run on company-owned equipment, and following a least-privilege approach for the various systems we utilize to deliver managed services. Employees pay and retention are both very important to us. Applied Tech continues to do market studies on compensation, and turnover is something we strive to keep at a minimum however, it is not always possible to avoid. Our turnover is lower than your estimation, and less than the industry standards in our current labor market. We do acknowledge there is always room for improvement.

Pros

You will learn a lot working for an MSP. Applied Tech is one of the larger MSPs in Wisconsin, and they support a lot of different companies.

Cons

You will get burnt out from the workload after a year. The turnover is massive here. Applied Tech most likely has close to 30-40% turnover in a year. It seemed like every other week someone is resigning. They bring on new clients that they cannot handle. Sales will regularly coax large potential clients in, meanwhile, the NOC would be complaining that they are overloaded and cannot support another 100+ user company. It was not uncommon to be working over 30 different tickets at a time. Some techs have hit as high as 50-60 different tickets they are trying to work, but still get more piled onto them. If you are level 2, you will be on call about once a quarter for a week. If you are level 3, you will be on call once a month for a week. You can expect to be living on the phone and computer on the weekends.

Thank you for your review. Applied Tech always welcomes opportunities to improve and encourages open discussion with current and former employees. When it comes to topics like workload and turnover, we strive for the right mix between providing challenges for employees where they can learn and grow daily but also opportunities for them to lead a fulfilling life outside of work. Employee retention is important to us, and turnover is something we strive to keep at a minimum however, it is not always possible to avoid. Our turnover is lower than your estimation, and less than the industry standards in our current labor market. However, we acknowledge there is always room for improvement. For caseload, we are proud of the approach we have developed over the years where we have many levels within our support team that can assist on a ticket and believe we have found a healthy approach to handling the needs of our clients. In the end, though, your review is most important to us because it helps us understand that we haven't done everything we can to support our employees. Please know we take all feedback seriously and very much appreciate you taking the time to provide it.
