Pros
Company allowed freedom due to lack of management structure. I always received my paycheck on time and received strong health coverage, but never was reimbursed for expenses nor given the promised raise in salary. It was nice to work for SearchDex because no one ever held anyone else accountable. Pay was good, but never received a deliverables for anything in the year+ that I worked there. Everything I did, was self generated. The office has good people, but most are looking out for other individuals as opposed to the collective team. There was always snacks. The HR manager was the best. She is no longer with the company...
Cons
Company is private equity owned and incredibly reactionary in tough situations. No job is safe except for a selected handful of leadership figures. The product itself is a good product but overvalued by the inner management circle. Very few in the office understand SEO holitisically. They focus only on the pages they are working on, then feature those results in reports. If you have ethical quoms about reporting, be ready. You will not receive official training. If so, it will be another SearchDex employee being nice. It will not come from CEO, CMO, or VP. They often act too busy, but when posed with questions, it is obvious there are very few answers. I would often walk around the office to build rapport with others. But no one wanted to talk to each other. Devs only with Devs, leadership only with leadership, and sales (when it existed) only to sales. The technology is becoming outdated as other companies and software platforms are doing the same thing, better and cheaper. The private equity company is trying to pull their money out. Be careful when being hired post-Feb 2016. The company might not be the same.
