      The people are very talented

      Cons

      There ia a bully culture in Altera and it creates a toxic work place. Middle management are under pressure to get results ( without any investment) from the exec level. They in turn bully the workers. Its very political place. Its cheap though its a wealthy company they dont invest yet expect MS growth. Lack of direction is unreal and the re-orgs are just too much as you cant get anywhere as the direction changes mid way. HR is a joke and are certainly not there for the workers, if you arent a manager they wont even talk to you.

      I met some nice people who understood what I was going through because they were too!

      Cons

      Managers are bullies and HR don't want to know, despite what they say in your handbook! The advise I'd give anyone looking to work in Altera? Trust me, don't do it!! Working 12 hour days and being paid for 8! No flexibility, looked down upon for having children, and made feel like you're worthless! I can't pinpoint a good thing that came out of my time here apart from the feeling I got when I left! Toxic environment with backward policies!

      Pros

      Compensation is ok. On site fitness that you can do exercise during lunch time. Beautiful campus with lots of parking space. Location is good.

      Cons

      Poor management. The managers have not technical skills, nor management skills. They only know how to kiss the ass of their boss. Skil set you learn is very limit and will lose market value if you stay there too long. Don't trust experience or knowledge of new hired. Most of engineers are not happy working there.
