Pros

I'm trying really hard to think of a pro... nope, can't do it.

Cons

Where so I begin? No work life balance, over worked and under paid employees, zero internal communication, unrealistic goals, the owner of the company thinks he is a god like figure and unless you are in his circle you are just another minion. The positive reviews are all fake and employees are told to write good reviews to cover the bad (real) reviews. AWFUL culture, no one is willing to help, everyone will try to pass the task to someone else, zero accountability. Honestly, the worst place I have ever worked. If you are considering Access as an employee - run.

You have expressed a lot of anger and frustration related to your personal experience. We are sorry to hear about your negative opinion regarding Access. Although we have faced some difficult times with the pandemic, we do believe our culture has persevered. We hold employee appreciation events often to engage our employees in and out of the workplace and offer several opportunities for growth. We do value our employees at every level and acknowledge that they are all a part of our success, compensating with several internal promotions every year. We also do believe that our reviews are 100% genuine and employees are encouraged to share their feedback and experiences – positive and negative.

Pros

Entry level IT work and learn from many different systems how not to manage IT infrastructure. You get a lot of drive time since most fixes can be done remotely. Gives you time to look for other jobs.

Cons

-Lack of general management direction. -More concerned about ticket metrics that they don't understand than actual problem resolution, reboot and forget it. -No standardization of hardware for any environment. -They are very behind on general IT setup. They set up all computers one at a time instead of imaging them. -Poor planning and implementation of most projects. Lack of follow through by management and team leads to verify project requirements. -Very hurried workflow to finish one poorly implemented project to start another. -Lack of general IT fundamentals by senior management team -Poor work life balanace -Encouraged to work "Off the clock" because they consider this a family instead of a business -Micromanagement is probably the biggest issue they have -No room for advancement due to the companies service style. No tier system, no escalation chain

We are sorry to hear you feel the IT management needs more support. Our leaders are continuously learning through the monthly leadership development training and Access’ culture is to promote from within the organization. The management team was restructured for FY19, adding a Director of IT Service, who has a strong aptitude with project management. The IT management team meets weekly to improve communication between the Network Operation Center and the field team members to assist in better hand-offs after an implementation is complete. In Q2 of FY19 a tiered service system, with technical team leads was implemented to improve workflows and better prioritize projects. As with any growing company comes new struggles, but new opportunities for promotions arise and our belief of promoting from within helps position our employees and our customers for success.

Honesty Is not the best Policy

Pros

It was fun and a learning experience.

Cons

heaven forbid you disagree with them. I did not get a review or employee meeting for months and when it was it was pointed out. I got a short review. When i brought up compensation and the frustration, i was terminated the next day. you cannot voice your honest opinion without the threat of being fired. that happened within the first 6 months. There is definitely a click going on. I have watched too many good people come and go from there.

I understand that being terminated from a job you said this week you loved at a company you wanted to work for is very frustrating. It is disappointing that you again take your emotions to a public forum. I will dispute your heading, honesty is the best policy, as integrity is our number one core value. You have a voice at Access, over your tenure we have listened to your ideas and concerns – acting as needed. Unfortunately, if you disagreed with the answer or felt you were "right," you were not receptive and walked away – numerous times when the other person was mid-sentence. I experienced that personally many times. For clarity for others reading your review, I would also like to share that your manager regularly communicated with you via weekly meetings. He kept you in the loop about the department's vision, transitions, and expectations. These weekly meetings also allowed you to express your feedback and concerns. After discovering the oversight on your delayed annual review, we completed it very timely, taking accountability for the delay and apologizing, which you then stated was not an issue. What was an issue were the statements you made that led to your termination, which you acknowledged in writing this week, yet you attempt to deflect, defame, and take no accountability for in a public forum such as this. This is another indicator that Access was not the right fit for you; it isn't for everyone. We wish you success in your future endeavors and career.
