Pros

AccelByte management listens to their employees. They care about their employees wellbeing and it shows in their actions. They try hard to develop positive culture so people can work together happily.

Cons

They are a typical startup company. They appreciate fast and immediate results. It means that a lot of times management are impatient. They can't wait so that engineers can deliver good product that makes themselves proud. They don't realize that some the disasters are results of rush. If they are serious about having a lot of clients, they should focus on making robust, scalable, and easy to use products. It means that AccelByte needs to spend much more effort on quality. They also need to have a better career path and career ladder. Make it so that employees feel that they are paid fairly. Don't wait until an employee ask for salary raise. Indonesians don't do that. The ones who ask salary raise might be the ones who least deserve it.

Pros

Trying to leave a review in a professional and objective ways so here goes. The Indonesian team are all very helping and resourcful and I can tell the HR in Indonesia are very genuine people. They like to send care packages, gyms and vitamins are reimbursable so it’s good this company is concerned with the employees’ health.

Cons

This company does not have a clear metrics for employees performance for smaller teams. They focus too much on making money and barely give second chances if you miss your goals unless they see you as an asset. In my time as an employee I’ve heard two cases of employee resignment because they couldn’t deliver. I definitely see there is favoritism going on, if you’re close to seniors or CEO, you’re safe. This is very unfortunate and ironic for a company that boasts about employees professional growth. The upper management from outside Indonesia that happened to oversee my team barely did a check in, attend our team meetings or get to know my teams and work progress, and gave assessment that totally felt unfair because several points that they thought we were lacking in, are the things we’ve already done and had real progress in. Dont get me wrong, some people at AB im sure are nice people. It’s just a matter if you happen to be under a bad leader. My team felt like we were being scapegoated

Could be better

Pros

1) exposure to people in gaming industry 2) get a chance to receive credits in games 3) good people and supportive coworkers 4) kind and understanding lead 5) good health care and insurance 6) random holiday 7) English language class 8) compensation for electricity for bringing work computer home 9) fully remote. when there is office day the company pay for train/flight ticket and hotel for the employee who live far away

Cons

1) overtime for Indonesian employee is not paid, we only get food voucher and a holiday if the overtime is 8 hours 2) no oncall compensation for Indonesian employee 3) professional growth are not according to industry standard 4) not following Indonesia cuti bersama 5) some of the foreign employee are not treating the Indonesian employee with respect 6) some of the nice coworkers are leaving the company because of stress, burnout, low compensation, and work environment 7) not much competsation, too much gimmick events with games and package. 8) new HR is not as great as before 9) favoritism, sometime not based on skills, but based on how close or nice you are with the upper management
