Interesting work for very little money

Pros

Full of smart, interesting people working on an enormous variety of cool projects. People are relatively open with their knowledge. Most employees have an office with a door.

Cons

Long hours with no overtime pay. Raises and bonuses are the worst I've seen in 15 years in the aerospace industry. Politics can be nasty.

Decent work experience for engineers just starting out.

Cons

Executive team is poorly run and HR doesn't support, or know how to support, you when you need help. Compensation is biased on a hierarchy, so don't expect a pay increase unless you fight for it. You're basically on your own if you need something, so don't waste your time asking for help.

Pros

ATA Engineering is a consulting engineering company where projects change frequently. Often I was working on 2-3 projects at once, which is a good balance of work flow and kept things interesting every day. Additionally, everyone works together very well, and you can ask anyone a question without feeling like you are bothering them. During my first few weeks here I witnessed the president of the company work with a first time co-op for a full day to help get him up to speed on the project he was helping her with. That is just my favorite of many stories I have of the great experiences with ATA, and as the title says, it is "more like working with a family."

Cons

As is common with most, if not all consulting companies, there are slow times where there isn't enough work to go around. These times aren't very common though, and is no fault of the company.
