Pros

Apollo is great at presenting an imagine of growth, potential success and the illusion that is it different from other insurance companies. They provide some great swag and books to read to get you into the mindset of being an entrepreneur.

Cons

This company is hanging on by a thread. All of the items they promised at the beginning of my hiring process they did not commit to. The CEO is short tempered and promotes only those he likes. I was shocked that people with little experience and skills were running teams. There are a bunch of people who don't know what they are doing who are considered favorites because they do as they are told. For those who actually are smart and can help in building the company are let go because they push back. You can work endless hours and if you're unliked all your efforts do not matter. You become a target by and they will find a reason to let you go. Bonuses are never paid!!! They will drag it on forever and will not come out and say they are not paying you. Many internal practices are unethical which is causing issues with the clients we are selling to. As hard as Apollo tries to present itself as a forward thinking company which is different then typical insurance companies it is just as bad, if not worse. When you are first hired they present the illusion that we are all family and they care about you as an employee. How can a company hire aggressively and then fire 1/3 of the company. Some people were let go within the first 3 months of employment. This is unacceptable. Poor planning and lack of growth should have been considered before hiring a large group of people. Bottom line the hiring was done to show potential investors Apollo is growing. I assure you it is not and people were used as pawns. Once this was accomplished, great employees were let go and interns were hired at a lower cost and they are too young to understand what is really happening at Apollo. Playing with peoples livelihood is despicable and the CEO should be ashamed. The future looks bleak for Apollo and do not suggest working here unless you enjoy being lied to.

Pros

They have no loyalty, so you can be a mercenary and fit right now.

Cons

They fire experienced people and hire fresh graduates on contract because it is cheaper. They promote inexperienced people because they do as they are told, and fire the experienced people because they question the craziness. They use big bonus numbers to lure people in, but never pay them. I don't understand why people join this company and why investors recent gave us money. Its only a matter of time before this whole thing shuts down.

Pros

Onboarding is exciting with lots of nice swag and work from home equipment provided. Benefits plan is good. There is a lot of autonomy because it is a start up and everything changes quickly. At first, it is very exciting. Inclusive working environment. They do hire great people.

Cons

The company does not pay bonuses. Ask anyone hired in 2021 if they received their "20% bonus" promised in their job offers. It's always a moving target so you will never actually get paid. Candor is nothing but a catch word. The management and C-suite are so stacked with mis-matched, unqualified people that they don't understand what qualified staff are saying. They want you to smile and nod when they ask employees to carry out practices that are simply unethical in the insurance industry. In January they laid off 1/3 of highly-qualified staff, and eventually rehired interns at a lower wage or on contract. There is no loyalty. Hard work and extra hours do not matter to their bottom line. The corporate culture is fake. The LinkedIn posts are fake. Management pressures employees to create posts. It all an illusion.
