Pros

For the most part, everyone I work with has been lovely, down-to-earth, and good at their jobs. The people are by-far the best part of working at AMS. Additionally, most people are allowed to work from home most of the week, though they don't hire any remote-only positions anymore.

Cons

Currently, my entire department is stressed about our job security. We're going through a restructure, which is fine in theory, but a senior manager thought it was a good idea to tell us (right before Christmas!) that most of our jobs are being moved overseas, and we have not been told how many jobs will be left for UK employees, but it doesn't sound like many. Soon my colleagues will all be competing for our own jobs, which has created a hugely toxic work environment. As far as we can tell, we're essentially all being made redundant and competing for whatever's left, rather than having our skills audited and being allocated when possible. On another topic, the widespread use and approval of AI-generated content throughout the company is very disappointing, and makes it clear that the company does not value creativity or originality. Why should anyone bother reading AMS' words if AMS employees can't be bothered to write them?

Pros

I am coming up to my 10 year anniversary with AMS and I am reflecting on my career journey which has been so positive since joining. I started out as a recruiter in Investment banking with one of our major clients after a career in agency. The adjustment in to RPO was so positive for me as there were aspects to my agency role I just didn't enjoy like the hard core BD targets. AMS and thier service was a very different working environment. I moved in to a people manager role quickly and on to a Senior Manager role. I have seen 3 different sectors from Investment Banking to Retail Banking and Insurance and now Professional Services. I have had what I would say is really three career paths and moves in the company without the headache of actually moving in the market. I have had the chance to be part of a new account in role growing a client from initial contract to a fully operational model which is super exciting. Personally AMS is a company I see myself with for years to come. Thier focus on People and Culture is really important to me - they actually want to be impactful with thier employees. They focus heavily on client delivery and ensuring we have expertise in everything we do for that client base. With that I am lucky to have a full flexible role where I focus on productivity and output not on what hours or days I work or where I work from which allows me to balance things well. I look forward to what's ahead for my career and for AMS as a company!

Cons

Ireland is a smaller geographic region for AMS
