Pros

Enjoyed helping families and seeing tangible results from my hard work- a couple of coworkers who weren't burned out and were good listeners.

Cons

Where do I begin? The director, VT, has a personality disorder. I have never met anyone more mentally unstable in my entire life, and I work in mental health! The program is run horribly. VT adheres to the motto "rule with an iron fist" which in some fields may work, but rarely plays well in the field of human services where people are severely underpaid. VT will scream staff's first and last names (which is a HIPAA violation not mention unsafe for staff) repeatedly over the loud speaker. He has no qualms about yelling and deriding staff in front of others, including individuals. served by ADAPT. Once time VT yelled at me so intensely an individual served said "why does he treat you like that?" VT , consistent with being a horrible boss, empowers the wrong employees. With that you see disgruntled lazy staff in positions of power and more new passionate staff left without a voice. The things VT would say are without a doubt, illegal, in the eyes of any employer. My favorite VT line was "How come the families you work with only speak Spanish, they have been living in America long enough, they should know English." My friends who are still there report that VT is still the director. The fact that ADAPT is willing to let such a liability continue to harm the children and staff served is a disgrace to this field.

Pros

There is great work being done by the people that get paid the least. If you are not part of the executive’s favorites- beware. The individuals are inspiring and a joy.

Cons

Always on eggshells. They promote “ family” but don’t treat you that way. Pay is ridiculous

Pros

The company has a wide variety of jobs and decent benefits. They are flexible, have great vacation package, and they like to promote from within. Its fulfilling, good experience and challenging.

Cons

High stress environment, interdepartmental communication lacks, its hard to balance work and and personal and even though there are women in high positions the company tends to pay men higher for the same position and promote men quicker.

Thank you for your review. I am glad that you find thee work fulfilling and the experience good and challenging. however, I am concerned about your comment regarding what you feel is a pay disparity between men and women. I can assure you that this is not the case. We take great care to ensure that all employees are paid based on their seniority and performance without regard to gender. I encourage you to speak with a member of our Human Resources team if you have specific concerns and we will promptly look into it and correct and inconsistencies. Thank you again and we appreciate all you do to make ADAPT a great place to work.
