The Rangers Football Club is a soccer team that competes in the Scottish Premier League. Known to supporters as Gers or the Light Blues, the team boasts a record 54 league titles, 33 Scottish Cups, and 27 Scottish League Cups. Rangers Football Club was started in 1873 and plays host at Ibrox Stadium in Glasgow. The club's fierce rivalry with Glasgow neighbors Celtic goes back to 1888 (the two clubs are collectively known as the Old Firm). Most of Rangers Football Club's revenue comes from ticket sales, merchandise, sponsorships, and broadcasting rights fees. Former chairman David Murray, who has interests in mining, property development, and customer call centers, controls nearly the entire company.
