The company's Equipment division manufactures sputtering systems that deposit alloy films onto hard-disk drives; the films magnetize the drives and thus enable them to record information. The Equipment division also makes disk lubrication systems and sputterers used to make flat-panel displays. Intevac's Photonics division develops sensitive electro-optical devices used in night vision equipment and handheld materials identification instruments. Top customers include Seagate, Fuji Electric, Hitachi Global Storage Technologies, which collectively account for nearly 80% of sales. Customers located in the Asia/Pacific region make up nearly 75% of sales.
