Founded in 1954, the Humane Society of the United States is the most effective animal protection organization. Together with our affiliates we provided hands-on care and services to nearly 100,000 animals in 2018 alone, and continue to professionalize the field through education and training for local organizations. We are the leading animal advocacy organization, seeking a humane world for people and animals alike.
