Gradco Holdings has a knack with the stack. The company develops and markets custom paper handling equipment (sorters, stackers, feeders, tape binders, and booklet makers) for office copiers, printers, and fax machines made by other manufacturers. Subsidiaries include Gradco (USA), Gradco (Japan), and Gradco Technology. The only operation of Gradco Technology is decidedly low-tech -- it distributes Dippin Dots ice cream in Japan though it is exploring new business opportunities in sales, management consulting, and technology. Gradco went private in a management buyout in 2004.
