Cons
- Vienna can be an expensive place to live at times but this is very much nit picking!
I applied through an employee referral. The process took 2 months. I interviewed at Boehringer Ingelheim (Vienna) in Jun 2025
Interview
I had an initial screening interview directly with the hiring manager and was then invited to an interview morning (presentation plus multiple panel interviews) in person at their Vienna location. The interviews were collegial and designed to let me highlight my skills and simply to find if I fit the position. There were no hostile questions and I had a lot of opportunities to ask about the role and the team. All communication was directly with the hiring manager, who answered any questions I had immediately.
I ultimately declined the position for purely personal reasons, but had a very positive image of the team and company. Salary offer is numerically lower than the USA but excellent for Vienna. The company also has very good benefits (relocation, 38 hour weeks, german classes for family, loads of vacation, discount transport and food etc).

Question 1
(After describing the role, projects etc) Is this a role that matches your interests? Would you be happy to focus in this area rather than (other topics I had worked in previously)
