I applied through a recruiter. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at emergiTEL (Toronto, ON) in Oct 2023
Interview
Long interview process and presentation to the hiring team and then met the CEO only to not get a response after that. Very frustrating taking all the time of work to get ghosted.
I applied online. The process took 2 days. I interviewed at emergiTEL (Toronto, ON) in Jan 2022
Interview
It's a job agency and I replied to their job posting on Indeed. The recruiter called the next day to have me interview for a different position than the one I applied for, but at the same 3rd party company. Every time I mentioned that I applied for a different position he brushed it of and insisted on me interviewing for the position he wanted. I checked Indeed for the new position he was peddling and saw that it paid $22/hr, however on the call he changed it to $20/hr. The position was also on-site, even though I applied for a remote job. When I told him I am only interested in remote positions, all of a sudden he switched and said the position would be remote. He proceeded to set up an interview with the 3rd party company they were hiring for, as well as a prep call with his manager. I left it at that and figured I'd just take it up with this manager because he seemed clueless. When the manager called I asked why the pay says $22 in their ad, but dropped to $20 on the phone and her response was that the recruiter is responsible for the ad and she hasn't seen it. Which is both unlikely and unprofessional. I also confirmed with her that it would be remote, she said it's a shock to her that the recruiter would promise remote work since it is hybrid at best. She said she would see if she could make it remote. Once I got off the phone with her, I cancelled the 3rd party interview. Nothing seemed legitimate about my initial interview/interactions with this agency - especially with the bait and switch pay. The next morning the manager called me 3 times back to back then texted me for me to do the 3rd party interview. I informed her that I already declined the invite and was not interested in them representing me. The following week, when I checked my page visits on LinkedIn people from this agency were checking my page. It was all just weird and I'm glad I backed out.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
None from the agency itself, just asks you about related experience.
I applied through an employee referral. The process took 1 week. I interviewed at emergiTEL (Lahore) in Sept 2018
Interview
They interview the person who has good communication skills, good presentation skills and good confidence. If you have any call centre experience you are good to work over there. You just have to gain your experience that how they recruit people and what is actually recruitment.
