Very bad experience: Applied online, received an invite to phone interview with the recruiter. He didn't read my resume/online application that carefully because he didn't realize I was a remote candidate until I pointed it out, which made me doubt if they were ok with hiring remote candidates for this position or not (which later turned out they were not). HR/recruiting department was very disorganized and lacked proper communication among themselves.
Then I had phone interviews with 2 hiring managers for 2 different positions, one I applied to, the other one I was reached out by the hiring manager as she thought my background was a good fit for the role. Then I was invited to schedule an onsite interview. After the schedule was made they didn't mention anything about interview travel expense, so I asked if they would provide travel arrangements for me or not. A lady in HR/recruiting replied that they would buy air tickets but I would need to pay hotel and meals first and request a reimbursement later, which seemed fine. However one day later I received a call from the recruiter saying they would CANCEL the onsite interview but request 2 more phone interviews?! (without considering if I had to cancel hotel reservation or not).
Something didn't feel right at this point already but I was very interested in this position so I again took the time to schedule the 2 additional phone interviews with them. Then surprisingly and ridiculously within 2 days, they emailed me and told me they had extended an offer to someone else and would CANCEL the interviews again!!
I was quite appalled at this point by the company's lack of professionalism and integrity. They had no respect for job seekers. Why even REACH OUT to me about the position in the first place but not being serious about my candidacy? Why waste candidate's time if reluctant about hiring remote candidates? Why even pretend to schedule interviews if the hiring team didn't really intend to? I spent so much time on researching and learning about the company's history, services and financials and on preparing for the interviews that turned out to be cancelled TWICE!! It was not worth it at all.
Anyway I definitely dodged a bullet.
