      Difficult interview

      Application

I applied through other source. The process took 3 months. I interviewed at bunq in Jan 2025

      Interview

It lasted three months. Intro Call (40 mins): The first call was just a basic "fit check" with minimal insights into the actual role or expectations. Personality and Abstract Reasoning Test (60 mins) Skills Assessment Test (2-3 hours) Team Lead Interview (45 mins) Get Sh*t Done Day (GSDD): The final stage was an absolute disaster. I was given a challenge in a PDF format without any clear instructions or guidance. I was told I would have access to the system and data to complete the task and could reach out to the team for support, but when I tried, no one responded properly. The system didn’t even work for me—I couldn’t log in and spent hours trying to figure things out on my own. I barely had 3-4 hours to complete the huge task, which included identifying a problem, proposing a solution, and creating a milestone plan. To make matters worse, I was working on the wrong challenge the entire time because no one clarified what I needed to do. I worked through the entire day under extreme stress, didn’t have time to even take a break or drink water, and created a whole presentation with the data I could gather. In between everything, I was asked to set up 4-5 different meetings with different people by checking their availability. It was a completely demoralizing and unprofessional experience. The lack of support, guidance, and proper communication made it feel like the entire process was designed to set me up for failure. I felt relieved when I was rejected because frankly, I couldn’t imagine working in an environment like that. It was stressful, unorganized, and utterly disappointing. If this is a reflection of the company's culture, I’m glad I wasn’t selected. It feels like a toxic work environment, and I would not recommend anyone. Stay away.

      Application

I applied through a recruiter. I interviewed at bunq in Nov 2024

      Interview

I got reached out to via LinkedIn about the role. From there, I was sent calendar links to schedule the first interview. Interview when well and I was told I would move on to next round and that I should expect an email regarding scheduling in the next couple of days. Two days later I got a rejection email of which I replied to asking what had changed. I received no reply.

      Application

I applied online. The process took 2 months. I interviewed at bunq (Paris) in Nov 2024

      Interview

Among the worst recrutement process I ever had. You start by having a couple of assessments (4-5 first steps out of 8), then you have a quite normal interview with the hiring manager and then the last step is a full day of work immersed in the company (or remotely if you're unlucky). First, the Job changed juste before the last step. Then, having an "immersion day" remotely is maybe the worst idea ever, I had a case to do and present at the end of the day, and of course half of the resources were not working from remote. Also, during the welcome call of my immersion day, they insisted on the case. They also told me briefly that I had to organize one "cultural call" during the day among a list... 2 people. One wasn't available for the whole day and the second one wasn't available when I reached to him around 3pm. He told me that it was not a problem to miss this and I reached to someone else in the company (via Linkedin) to have a meeting to replace. After a week, I received an automatic rejection mail. Which is insane after all these steps and spent an entire day working for you. When I asked for a call and a bit of feedback, I've been told 2 things : - First that I didn't really get what was the job about (remember that it was changed 1 or 2 days before the last step and that i didn't really got too much info) -Then that I was automatically rejected since I didn't get to do the "cultural meeting", the same one that I couldn't do because nobody was available and that it was OK not to do. I have no problem getting rejected, even after a long process, but I clearly wasted my time with them and the process was too chaotic for me.
