      Interview

It was a very quick process but receiving the offer took a little long. Very nice interviewer, would recommend. How many words is 30 words my god. I think this must be 30 words by now.

      Intern Interview

      6 Sept 2019
      Anonymous interview candidate
      Los Angeles, CA
      No offer
      Neutral experience
      Easy interview

      Application

I applied online. I interviewed at bread & Butter (Los Angeles, CA) in Aug 2019

      Interview

Bread and Butter is the reason why I wanted to get into Public Relations. I admired their story, what they did, and how rapidly they have been expanding. They were the reason why I decided to go back to school and pursue a career in PR and Digital Marketing. For six years I worked hard to hopefully open my own firm like them or at least try to intern for them. Months before I got my degree, I applied to be an intern and thought I would never hear back from them. Surprisingly I did and I even got a phone interview for the LA Office! Unfortunately, I didn’t get the internship position. It was fine because it was an honor to at least get a call, but I had to take off a few stars because of the way they handled this situation. They stated they were looking for an intern and the woman who was interviewing me was nice and sweet, but she was buttering me up (no pun intended) saying I was a perfect candidate, I was what they were looking for, they wanted to see my blog from class and then said we will keep in contact and never did. I was left hung to dry. I found out a week later I didn’t get the position from a LinkedIn post instead of being told directly. Please don’t ignore who you’re interviewing. If you found your candidate, let the other candidates know. Just send the “We regret to inform you,” letter or phone call. They won’t blow up. They will accept it and move on. This company seems like a great company and I will always have a soft spot for the firm that pushed me to my career path, but I hope that they improve their HR skills for future interns and employers.

Hi there and thank you for your feedback. We truly appreciate any and all critical feedback as it helps us grow as a company while also bringing to light some steps that might go over looked in our interview/hiring process. Please accept our sincerest apologies for the lack of communication regarding your status during the intern interview process. We would never intentionally want to leave anyone 'hung out to dry' and I'm afraid this was done as a result of plain and simple oversight on our part. Believe it or not this is a part of the process we are working to make more efficient/consistent. We very much take to heart that bread & Butter is the reason you wanted to get into PR and we hope you never lose that passion! Your communication to us has certainly made an impact and while critical, it was also constructive so thank you. We sincerely wish you the best of luck in your search in your PR endeavors. Please reach out any time with questions/feedback. hiring@breadandbutterpr.com

      Interview

The experience was very personable, I felt that the interviewer was getting to know me on both a professional and a personal level as it related to the hospitality industry. She explained the position thoroughly and I feel that the position is as to be expected. You get a hands on internship in the hospitality PR sector.
