I thought we connected on multiple things but eventually nothing ever happened. I felt like our personal goals and such aligned but sadly in the end I was just ghosted.
After the initial phone interview, Carla Vanderhoof met with me in person to get coffee to get to know me (This should've been a HUGE red flag in my head). Initially I thought this was a step forward in the interview process. In retrospect, I think this was a technique used to fish information from me that normally shouldn't be asked of me.
I let my guard down and she asked me multiple personal questions (marital status/how old I was/other personal things) that may have affected her judgement of hiring me. At the time it just seemed like a normal casual coffee met, thus why I didn't realize why this was harmful on my part later. I should've treated every interaction professional until I was further along the process/hired.
In the end she suggested to meet up once a month to catch up but she declined every time I would speak to her about it. Not a single rescheduling offer, just "I'm busy sorry."
Word of caution: Be on guard for any interaction, treat everything like a professional interview until you are hired! Research what questions SHOULD NOT be asked of you and stick to them. Employers cannot ask you personal questions. Keep your personal info at arms length until after the interview process!
