I was internally referred to Zanbato for a business development role covering the EMEA region. The process lasted about three months and included multiple calls and a full platform demo.
From the outset, the role was described as salaried - a $150K base plus commission on executed trades. However, after completing the demo, I was told that my understanding had been a âmiscommunicationâ and that compensation would instead be commission-only, with no base until 'seven figures' in revenue were produced.
For a company that promotes price transparency and integrity in private markets, this shift was disappointing at best. Expecting candidates to work on commission-only terms after presenting a salaried offer is not standard or professional practice.
Everyone I spoke with was courteous and knowledgeable, but I would strongly advise future candidates to confirm compensation terms in writing early in the process.
Pros:
⢠Smart, professional team
⢠Innovative product and market positioning
Cons:
⢠Compensation terms changed late in process
⢠Lack of transparency on pay structure
