I applied through a recruiter. The process took 6 days. I interviewed at ZS Associates (Pune) in Feb 2015
Interview
It' s a very brief process. ZS will check your ability to think and adaptability under pressure. It doesn't matter where you are from(if you are from off-campus),whats your background, they care your capabilities. But getting into ZS through off-campus is very difficult. ZS generally hires on campus students from top tier Engineering schools.
For off-campus:
1)They conduct an online exam to test analytical ability, verbal (similar to CAT, but not as tough as CAT)
2)Selected candidates are called to the ZS offices(Pune or Delhi) for detailed interviews
2.1) Case study round: You will be provided with a business case with few questions at the end. You are expected to answer those questions based on the provided business case, in case you find data insufficient, you can assume to some extent and keep a note of what you assumed and why.
There will be a follow-up discussion on this business case, just to understand how you solved the questions in it. You can ask any question if you have in this discussion. Your communication and problem solving skills are tested here.
2.2)Guesstimate round: You will be asked to guess some random number, example: Number of patients admitted in hospitals due to lung diseases in Pune city. They don't expect you to give a solid number.Feel free to explain the interviewee what ever you think is necessary, but make sure to justify what made you to come up with that assumption/way.It tests on how you will tackle when you are in a critical challenging situation.
2.3) Discussion with senior management: This is one of the best round you can experience. They are very experienced in estimating your capabilities with just 5-10 minutes of quick casual chat. They test your confidence in presenting your self.
Done: You are into ZS
Note: Every round has eliminations base don your performance.

Question 1
A cube of 10 cm is painted on all of its sides, and cut down into cubes of 1 cm.
1)What is the ration of cubes with one side painted to that of cubes painted on three sides?
2)If all the 1 cm cubes are painted with 1 mm think paint and re-assembled, what would be the final dimensions of the assembled product?
3)what will be the change in volume? (initial 10 cm vs. After painting 1 mm thick on 1 cm cubes)
There were 2 Interview Rounds- Technical and HR. Technical Interview basically focusses on Technical qualifications of the candidate as well as proper questioning related to it. HR Round was not so different for me. The interviewer sort of asked same technical questions along with some logical algebraic problems to solve.
