This is an Academic Role so it really depends on your Supervisor. It was a phone interview very easy and we change several emails. My supervisor encourage me to write a research proposal to apply for funding and even i did not get the grant he hired me anyway.

Interview
I contacted directly to the PI and then arranged a zoom meeting. I was asked to give them a presentation about PhD work and then I was asked different questions related to my Project.

Are you happy to move into the US? What's your long career goal?
Phone interview and then offered a postdoc position. Lots of the details of my research was aksed and the professor is very kind and tries to get to know all your skills that can be transferred to the lab
I applied online. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Yale University (New Haven, CT)
Interview
I reached the PI via email. We arranged a 20 min phone call. I flew to New Haven to give a 1hour talk in front of faculty members of the department (they paid for everything). People were friendly but cold (you sense the Yale ambience). I met with group members and a couple of faculty in person for a 15 talk each.

Question 1
At the seminar they asked me pertinent questions on my work (after all they were expert in that). Questions were mildly difficult, as expected. Then I talked with the PI about job. He didn't into too much detail (I regret I didn't insist)
