I applied on Indeed and recieved a request for a phone interview two weeks later.
Cut to the chase and I found it rather awkward as if the interview could not believe I had the audacity to apply for such an elite position. [Then why did you call me?]
Let it be said that the job description was at least 15 paragraphs long and referenced software like like Onbase and Diligent Board Meetings (in addition to things like Salesforce). They want you to be an expert in everything under the sun, including proof reading, writing, It sounded like the description for three separate full-time jobs. AND "poise." [OK, this last one is not me].
Anyway, I started on the "tell me about your resume" section which is admittedly varied and chaotic. She grew impatient and barked out "JUST TELL ME WHY YOU WANT THIS JOB"
So I enumerated the section of their own ad that said "minimum requirements'knowledge of office, and good time management.'"
Then she abruptly said, "I need to take this call," put me on hold, and then said "There is a payroll emergency here. We will have to reschedule this phone call."
Not being born yesterday, I know when I am getting the bums rush and the goodbye look.
I have yet to get the promised email to reschedule the phone call, but I don't care.
It's clear she thought I was lying on my resume and being evasive [I was only evasive because my resume only lists the last 12 years of my experience, and going back any further is VERBOTEN because it will instantlly reveal you to be an old fogey].
But whatever.
